Terms of use

Transmit has no public sign-up. These terms cover the people who have been given an account on it, and what they agree to by using it to publish.

Last updated 9 September 2026. Applies to Transmit at medianovix.site.

Who these terms are for

Transmit is a private tool, not a product. There is no sign-up form and no trial. An account exists on this install only because Transmit created one, and these terms are the agreement between Transmit and the person holding that account. Using the account is how it is accepted.

The account is one person's

An account is issued to a named person and is not to be shared, lent, or handed to somebody after they leave. Passwords are not to be reused from elsewhere. Anything done through an account is attributed to the person it belongs to, and the activity log makes that attribution permanent — so a shared password is not a convenience, it is a way of making the record wrong.

If an account is compromised, or a device holding a signed-in session is lost, tell an administrator so the sessions can be ended and the password reset.

What may be published through it

Only content the team is entitled to publish. That means content the team made, or content it holds a licence to use, including for any music, footage, image or voice in it. Publishing something the team does not have the rights to is the account holder's responsibility, not Transmit's, and it puts the connected Pages and channels at risk rather than just the post.

Content published through Transmit must also satisfy the rules of the platform it is going to. Facebook's and YouTube's policies apply in full, and they apply regardless of what this tool permits: Transmit will send whatever it is given, so a post that breaks a platform rule is a decision made by the person who scheduled it. Repeated violations are answered by the platform, usually against the Page or channel — which is to say, against everyone on the team.

Not permitted, in any circumstances: content that sexualises or endangers a minor; content depicting real animal cruelty; harassment of a real person; content designed to deceive about who published it; and content that infringes somebody else's copyright or trademark.

How the tool may be used

Transmit is for the team's own publishing work. It is not to be used to run a service for third parties, to publish on behalf of somebody outside the team, or to automate volumes of posting intended to game a platform's distribution. Attempts to reach parts of the install an account is not entitled to — other people's drafts, the stored API keys, the server itself — end the account.

The connected accounts belong to the operator

The Facebook Pages, YouTube channels and Google Drive folder that Transmit is connected to are Transmit's. Access to publish through them is granted for the work, and it ends when the work does. Nothing about having had an account creates a claim on a Page, a channel, an audience, or the content published to them.

Content and ownership

Content the team produces in the course of its work, and publishes through this tool, belongs to Transmit unless a separate written agreement says otherwise. An account holder keeps whatever rights they held before in material they brought with them.

What is not promised

Transmit is provided as it is. It runs on one server, it depends on Facebook's and Google's APIs, and either of those can change, rate-limit, or refuse a request without notice. Scheduled posts can therefore fail, and a failure can be silent on the platform's side even when this tool reports it clearly. Nothing here guarantees that a post will publish at a given minute, that a connection will stay connected, or that the tool will be available.

Keep an independent copy of anything that matters. Transmit keeps its own backups and they are tested, but they are one server's backups and they are not a substitute for the team holding its own masters. Transmit is not liable for a post that did not go out, an engagement count that read wrong, a platform action taken against a Page, or content lost to a fault — and, this being an internal tool rather than a purchased service, liability is limited to fixing the fault.

Ending access

An administrator can suspend or delete any account at any time, and does so when someone leaves the team or when these terms are broken. Deleting an account ends its sessions immediately and removes its ability to publish; the activity log of what that account did is kept, because the record of who published what has to outlast the account.

Changes to these terms

These terms can change, and the date at the top of the page changes with them. Continuing to use an account after a change accepts it. Because this is a team of ten, a change that matters is said out loud.

Questions

Anything about these terms goes to Transmit through the channel the team already uses.
